Chemical Engineering Principles · Volume 1

Author: Wang Zhenzhong / Zhang Lifeng (editors)
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-07-01
Features: This book introduces the fundamental principles, typical equipment, and calculations of important chemical engineering unit operations. The book is divided into two volumes. Volume 1 includes Introduction, Fluid Flow, Fluid Transport, Separation of Heterogeneous Systems, Heat Transfer, and Evaporation. Volume 2 includes Distillation, Absorption, Extraction, Drying, and Crystallization. Each chapter includes examples, and exercises are provided at the end of each chapter. Reference answers to the exercises are appended at the end of the book. This book can be used as a textbook for secondary vocational schools and technical secondary schools in chemical engineering and related fields, and can also serve as a reference for production management personnel in industries such as chemical engineering, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, light industry, textiles, food, environmental protection, and metallurgy. [Preface] This book is a revised edition of Wang Zhenzhong's Chemical Engineering Principles (Volumes 1 and 2), first published by Chemical Industry Press in 1986. To adapt to the new development of secondary vocational education, the revised edition places greater emphasis on improving students' ability to combine theory with practice, cultivating their engineering perspective and problem-solving skills. The book focuses on explaining the fundamental principles, operation of typical equipment, and basic calculations of common chemical engineering unit operations. In the revised edition: ① design calculations and advanced content have been removed; ② some chapters have been updated and their order adjusted; ③ crystallization has been added as a new chapter; ④ the chapter on refrigeration (Chapter 10) has been removed; ⑤ exercises have been carefully selected for each chapter; ⑥ some contents in the appendices have been updated. This book was co-authored by Wang Zhenzhong and Zhang Lifeng of Hebei Chemical and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College. The chapter on crystallization was written by Zhang Lifeng, while the other chapters were revised by Wang Zhenzhong. Zhang Lifeng also revised the exercises for all chapters. The entire book was proofread by Tan Hong of Hebei Chemical and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College, who provided many valuable suggestions for improvement. The book is published in two volumes. Volume 1, in addition to the Introduction and Appendices, includes five chapters: Fluid Flow, Fluid Transport, Separation of Heterogeneous Systems, Heat Transfer, and Evaporation. Volume 2, in addition to the Appendices, includes five chapters: Distillation, Absorption, Liquid-Liquid Extraction, Drying, and Crystallization. Exercises are provided at the end of each chapter, and reference answers to the exercises are appended at the end of the book. During the writing process of this book, we received strong support from Hebei Chemical and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College and our colleagues. We express our gratitude here. Due to the limited ability of the authors, we sincerely hope that readers will provide criticism and suggestions.
