Features: This Case Collection is compiled by the "National Advisory Committee on Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation Education of Universities" under the Ministry of Education. For many years, the committee has organized multiple exchanges and discussions among designated committee member institutions and some non-committee institutions regarding the training models for mechanical professionals, the demand for professional talent, the target service groups of the profession, and the training programs for professional talent. Based on this foundation, this collection summarizes the training programs for mechanical majors from universities across the country over the past 40 years. The training programs were developed by both key universities under the Ministry of Education and former institutions under various ministries and commissions, as well as local universities. The cases reflect the beneficial explorations and reform achievements of these institutions in training models, catering to the social demand for talent at different levels and their respective professional service targets. Due to the significant reforms in mechanical engineering programs, this case collection includes cases under the names of "Major in Mechanical Engineering," "Major in Mechanical Engineering and Automation," and "Major in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation." The publication of this Case Collection provides references for more universities in China to develop mechanical programs in terms of ideas and operations. At the same time, it also offers insights for the training of talent in other science and engineering disciplines.
