Features: This book is a textbook that teaches programming design without focusing on the programs in the book. It employs a new programming methodology: first, abstract and generalize the problem into a computational formula with a computational process and conditions; then, identify the corresponding C language statements or statement groups for the formula and write the main program segment; finally, add comments and input/output to form the complete program. This book is the first to categorize the algorithms involved in programming in language courses into three types: trial algorithms, recursive algorithms, and iterative algorithms, and provides basic program modules corresponding to each type. Programming can be as convenient as applying a mathematical formula, thereby increasing program reusability and reducing the difficulty of programming. The book includes nearly 100 examples, and all programs are accompanied by the design process and mathematical formulas with computational processes and conditions. Due to the conciseness of mathematical language, the book is shorter than similar textbooks and has stronger patterns. The book also introduces methods to reduce program complexity and programming difficulty. All programs in the textbook follow the same style, with standardized and consistent pairing of statement brackets, function segments, and the writing of clauses in compound statements, loop statements, and conditional statements, making them clear at a glance. This book is suitable for undergraduate and junior college students in non-computer science disciplines, as well as for introductory foundational courses for computer science majors.
