Patient's question:
I had a fallopian tube examination and found that I have hydrosalpinx. Is this condition serious? Can I not get pregnant anymore? I am really very distressed. Please ask: what are the symptoms of hydrosalpinx at different stagesDoctor's answer:
When there is hydrosalpinx, the dilated and undilated parts of the fallopian tube can still be connected, so patients often experience intermittent vaginal discharge. Infertility is often the only manifestation of fallopian tube hydrosalpinx. Fallopian tube obstruction or partial patency is a major cause of female infertility. The inflammation is primarily based on an inflammatory cause, which can be formed due to unresolved acute salpingitis or failure to undergo imaging in a timely manner, leading to adhesion of the fallopian tube mucosa. Causes such as incomplete abortion or retained placenta can cause inflammation. In some cases with an intrauterine device, secondary chronic salpingitis may develop. Long-term inflammatory stimulation can cause the fallopian tube to thicken, harden, and develop adhesions in the lumen, or even adhere to surrounding tissues, thereby interfering with the fallopian tube's egg retrieval function and the ability to inject sperm and eggs.
