What to eat less when having signs of miscarriage

Patient's question:

I was resting at home for two months due to discomfort during pregnancy. Recently, I noticed bleeding from the vagina and am worried about a miscarriage. Could you please advise what to avoid eating in case of threatened miscarriage?

Doctor's answer:

Preterm labor refers to the reappearance of minimal vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy, intermittent in nature, accompanied by mild lower abdominal pain and backache. It may lead to miscarriage but can also result in successful early pregnancy with appropriate treatment. It is primarily caused by the weakness of the pregnant woman's constitution, overexertion, or trauma. If symptoms of preterm labor reappear, it is necessary to seek medical attention promptly for HCG and ultrasound tests to assess the fetus's condition. If the fetus is doing well, bed rest is recommended, sexual intercourse is strictly prohibited, and fetal preservation treatment should be administered. Avoid sexual activity and physical labor for 2 months if the treatment is ineffective, and early pregnancy should be terminated. In terms of diet, focus on consuming foods rich in various vitamins and trace elements that are easily absorbed, such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, eggs, and meat.
