Features: The art of life lies in combining "Inner Square" and "Outer Round," meaning having a resolute inner character yet a gentle exterior. It does not involve self-promotion or exaggeration, but rather pursuing a firmly "biting down" goal in the heart. The core of this book is to analyze the importance of the "Inner Square, Outer Round" philosophy in both personal conduct and actions. It offers many fresh insights and is highly practical. I believe it will surely awaken your approach to both living and working.
Living and working both depend on the "Square and Round" philosophy. The "Square" refers to the outward expression of personality and methods, while the "Inner" refers to the deep-rooted temperament and attitude in the heart. The ancients often said, "Inner Square, Outer Round," precisely capturing this principle. Clearly, this combination of inner and outer is a great wisdom and profound knowledge in living and working—it is not a small-scale, trivial game of life.
Why is "Inner Square" necessary for living and working? As everyone knows, the direct meaning of "Square" is "Straight," referring to the courage, temperament, and determination in the heart to pursue and establish life goals, to dare to explore and take action. In simple terms, it means achieving oneself for oneself, refusing to compromise, standing tall in various difficulties, and competing with others.
Why is "Outer Round" also needed? Because there are always many subtle relationships between people that cannot be directly expressed—what you think may be exactly what others think, and what you need may be exactly what others need. Those who excel in the art of "Outer Round" succeed; those who deviate from it fail.
