Features: The so-called new industrialization refers to using informatization to drive industrialization and using industrialization to promote informatization, thereby forging a path of industrialization that is high in technological content, good in economic efficiency, low in resource consumption, with minimal environmental pollution, and fully leveraging the advantages of human resources. The proposal of the concept of new industrialization reflects the new development paradigm of the 21st century—green development. It has shifted China's economic development model from the traditional "black development" to "green development," meaning a transition from ecological exploitation to ecological construction, from ecological deficits to ecological surpluses. It aims to bid farewell to the high-energy, high-consumption, high-pollution, low-value-added "black development" of the past and embrace a "green economy" centered on human development, improving people's quality of life.
Chapter 1-2 of this book discuss the international and domestic background of Shandong's new industrialization path, drawing on the experiences and lessons of global industrialization processes while analyzing China's industrialization progress and the foundation of industrial development in Shandong Province. Chapter 3 outlines the evolutionary path required for Shandong's new industrialization. Chapters 4-6 conduct extensive empirical examinations of Shandong's industrialization path and propose relevant policy recommendations based on these practical tests. Chapters 7-9 focus on three research questions, including: the pivotal role of state-owned enterprises in Shandong's economic development; the need to create an environment to guide and promote the rapid development of private enterprises when pursuing a new industrialization path; and exploring issues of cooperation between enterprises and governments under the new economic conditions.
