How can endometritis be treated?

Patient's question:

Occasional pain in the lower abdomen, didn't pay much attention to it. Now, white discharge has also increased. The hospital examination said it was endometritis. How can endometritis be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Endometritis can be divided into tuberculous and non-tuberculous types, and it is an important factor leading to infertility. Acute endometritis is often caused by cross-infection during childbirth or during intrauterine or uterine surgery. If the treatment is not thorough or timely, it may become chronic. It is characterized by congestion, edema, and inflammatory exudates in the endometrium, and may even form ulcers. Common symptoms include increased leukorrhea, purulent blood discharge, foul odor, lower abdominal pain, and backache. It can progress to conditions such as myometritis, tubo-ovarian abscess, pelvic peritonitis, pelvic connective tissue inflammation, sepsis, and bacteremia.
During the treatment of endometritis, sexual activity should be avoided to prevent transmission. When suffering from acute endometritis, sexual activity should be strictly avoided, as it can easily lead to further spread of the inflammation.
