Patient's question:
I am still in college and have not had sexual activity, but recently I found that my leukorrhea is not normal, with issues in color and odor. Please ask: Can abnormal leukorrhea odor and cervical erosion be treated?Doctor's answer:
Normal leukorrhea should be white, sometimes translucent, sometimes viscous, and odorless. During puberty, leukorrhea is influenced by estrogen and exhibits cyclical changes, sometimes increasing continuously and at other times decreasing. During ovulation, leukorrhea is clear, abundant, while at other times it is less in quantity and more viscous. Changes in the characteristics of leukorrhea are often closely related to vaginal infections or diseases of the reproductive system. Purulent leukorrhea has an odor. It is often accompanied by itching and discomfort in the external genitalia, commonly indicating vaginitis. Hemorrhagic leukorrhea is more common in cases of inflammation of the cervix or uterus.
