How to relieve ovarian cysts

Patient's question:

Usually, there's not much going on, but every time I have sex with my boyfriend, I feel uncomfortable down there. Not only is the color of my discharge abnormal, but the smell is also very unpleasant. This issue has been troubling me for a long time. Please ask: How can I relieve the discomfort with an ovarian cyst?

Doctor's answer:

Ovarian cysts can be physiological (meaning they are normal fluctuations in the menstrual cycle that can naturally disappear) or pathological (formed due to disease). Physiological cysts do not require surgery, while pathological cysts often need surgery for definitive diagnosis and additional treatment. For women of childbearing age, after discovering an ovarian cyst, the next course of action depends on the nature of the cyst. Ultrasound results are very helpful for diagnosis. If MRI indicates that the cyst is anechoic (without echoes) and non-segmented, it is advisable to wait and see for 3 months. After 3 months, a repeat MRI should be performed. If the cyst still exists, surgery should be considered to address it. Additionally, most cysts are pathological and should be surgically diagnosed.
