Patient's question:
I am not married. Recently, I went for a physical examination and was told I have leukoplakia of the vulva. Is this condition serious? Will it affect my future ability to get pregnant? Please ask: How can leukoplakia of the vulva be treated effectively and reliably?Doctor's answer:
This disease is difficult to treat. If there is severe itching at the inflammatory site, you can use Chinese herbal decoctions to steam and wash the external genital area 1-2 times daily, then dry it. Apply a 2% compound testosterone ointment externally (this medication can be prepared by the patient under the guidance of a doctor) and gently rub it into the affected skin with fingers. Oral vitamin A (250,000-500,000 units daily) and vitamin B6 (100 mg daily) can also be taken.During treatment, it is important to note that when the condition improves and itching subsides, medication should not be stopped abruptly to prevent recurrence. Instead, the frequency of medication can be gradually increased, such as every other day or twice weekly. Avoid spicy foods; prevent colds and other febrile conditions; and avoid hot springs.
If the condition does not improve or alleviate after treatment, a repeat biopsy may be performed to check for atypical hyperplasia or cancer.
