Patient's question:
Suffering from infertility for many years, I have seen many doctors and visited many hospitals, but I have never been able to conceive successfully. I am almost giving up. Please ask: How is infertility best treated?Doctor's answer:
Hello! Azoospermia accounts for the majority of infertility cases. A normal semen sample contains more than 20 million sperm per mL. If the sperm count is below 20 million per mL, it is classified as azoospermia. Between 5 million and 10 million per mL, it is moderate azoospermia; below 5 million per mL, it is severe azoospermia. Common causes of azoospermia include: (1) Congenital testicular dysgenesis or cryptorchidism leading to impaired spermatogenesis (2) Varicocele, hydrocele of the tunica vaginalis (3) Inflammation of the reproductive tract (4) Immunosuppression and endocrine disorders (5) Chromosomal abnormalities, particularly sex chromosome aberrations, which severely interfere with sperm density, motility, and other parameters.
