What are the tests for uterine fibroids?

Patient's question:

My uterine fibroids have grown after the ultrasound examination. How should I treat them? Will removing the uterus be the same as being a man? Will I lose sexual life with my husband? Please; what are the examination items for uterine fibroids?

Doctor's answer:

I. Hysterosalpingography An ideal uterine contrast examination not only reflects the number and size of submucosal fibroids but also localizes them, thus greatly assisting in the early diagnosis of submucosal fibroids. Moreover, the method is simple, and the imaging of the fibroid area shows filling defects in the uterine cavity.
II. Hysteroscopy Examination of uterine fibroids generally does not pose diagnostic difficulties. The challenge in clinical diagnosis often lies in small submucosal fibroids, which are frequently missed during diagnostic (D&C) and only discovered in postoperative specimens of uterine fibroids. Hysteroscopy allows for detailed observation of the nature of intracavitary lesions under direct visualization, confirming the lesion location and enabling accurate sampling for biopsy. Small submucosal fibroids can also be removed simultaneously. Uterine fibroids are a gynecological condition that is prone to occurrence.
