Patient's question:
I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Could you please tell me what are the common causes of miscarriage?Doctor's answer:
From a medical perspective, fetal demise refers to the embryonic growth and development reaching a certain stage and then stopping due to impending death, halting further growth. A fertilized egg is like a seed, which must undergo a series of complex and miraculous processes to eventually transform into a healthy baby. If, in the initial stages, the fertilized egg fails to sprout properly, it is likely to stop growing and we refer to this abnormal embryonic growth and development that occurs in early pregnancy as "fetal demise." Fetal demise refers to the cessation of embryonic growth and development in early pregnancy due to some reason. Ultrasound examination shows irregular morphology of the embryo or fetus within the gestational sac, no fetal heartbeat, or appears as a dead gestational sac.
