Does eating lotus seeds cause milk to stop?

Patient's question:

I am a 23-year-old woman, and I have been breastfeeding my child since birth. So, I would like to know if eating lotus seeds can cause milk to stop.

Doctor's answer:

Lotus seeds can replenish the deficiency of the five internal organs and promote the smooth flow of qi and blood, making them highly suitable for postpartum women as they help in complete physical recovery. The nuciferine in lotus seeds can protect the heart and lower blood pressure, while the (raffinose) they contain has excellent nourishing effects on individuals recovering from illness, postpartum women, or the elderly. Postpartum women consuming lotus seeds will never experience a decrease in milk production, as long as they eat them in sufficient quantities. However, there are very few cases where some postpartum women have noticed a slight reduction in milk supply after eating lotus seeds.
