What to eat for candidal vulvovaginitis

Patient's question:

Usually, there's not much going on, but every time I have sex with my boyfriend, I feel uncomfortable down there. Not only is the color of my discharge abnormal, but the smell is also very unpleasant. This issue has been troubling me for a long time. Please ask: What should I eat if I have candidiasis vulvovaginitis?

Doctor's answer:

Hello. If a pregnant woman suffers from candidal vulvovaginitis, the treatment must be thorough and should not be stopped once the symptoms subside. The treatment method is as follows: for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, a 2%-3% soda solution or liquid can be used to rinse the external genitalia and vagina, while underwear should be changed daily and washed together with towels and basins. After the 12th week of pregnancy, after rinsing as described above, gently dry the external genitalia and place a nystatin suppository, miconazole, or clotrimazole suppository deep into the vagina, using it every night before bed. If there is vulvitis, miconazole cream can be applied to the external genitalia. Generally, a course of treatment lasts 10-14 days. After stopping the medication for 7 days, a follow-up test should be conducted. A third test for candidiasis should be performed 2 weeks after the symptoms disappear. Treatment can only be considered complete after full recovery.
