Patient's question:
Originally, I had mild pelvic inflammation and went to the hospital for a transvaginal ultrasound. The results showed high echoes in the uterine cavity and star-like blood flow signals in the CDFI, suggesting I might have uterine polyps. Can uterine polyps be treated effectively?Doctor's answer:
The treatment of uterine polyps with traditional Chinese medicine is not ideal. Depending on the size, location, shape of the polyps, and the patient's age, different (heterogeneous diseases) are used.1. For larger, pedunculated polyps that can be found or felt in the lower segment of the uterus, the polyps can be removed by dilating the cervix, followed by cervical and uterine scraping to remove remaining polyps and send them for pathological examination.
2. For small, focal, or diffuse polyps, a D&C (dilation and curettage) procedure is performed. Attention should be paid to thorough scraping, especially at the fundus and cornual areas of the uterus.
3. After uterine surgery, anti-infection treatment should be administered. Clinical diagnosis may involve oral antibiotics or intravenous administration of antibiotic medications.
