Patient's question:
I am a 26-year-old woman. Recently, I have been feeling quite tired, and my body has been feeling unhealthy. Could it be that I have this disease? Please ask: Will there be residual after medication abortion?Doctor's answer:
Post-medical abortion follow-up color ultrasound examination shows residual tissue still present in the uterine cavity, requiring a hospital visit for a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure. It is recommended to undergo the D&C as soon as possible to avoid the risk of missed abortion due to prolonged retention, which could affect the pregnant woman's coagulation function and lead to severe bleeding. In this case, the D&C should be performed first, under ultrasound guidance. If the D&C successfully removes the tissue, a hysteroscopy may not be necessary. However, if the D&C is not effective, a hysteroscopy will be required. Hysteroscopy allows for direct visualization and electric resection.
