How much blood is there when giving birth?

Patient's question:

I am 27 years old, and my mental state has not been very good recently. I don't know why, but I would like to ask: How much bleeding is normal during childbirth?

Doctor's answer:

Generally speaking, the amount of blood when experiencing bloody show during labor is not very much, usually significantly less than a normal menstrual period. Once bloody show occurs during labor, it indicates that the mother will soon give birth. Typically, delivery will occur within the next 24 to 48 hours. Of course, there are considerable differences in the amount of blood experienced during bloody show among different women. Some may have only a small amount, while others may have a much larger volume. However, regardless of the variation, the amount of blood during bloody show is almost never less than a normal menstrual period.
