Which is better, abdominal ultrasound or vaginal ultrasound?

Patient's question:

My good friend has been feeling unwell recently and wants to get an ultrasound examination at the hospital. However, they are unsure which one is more accurate. Which is better, transabdominal ultrasound or transvaginal ultrasound?

Doctor's answer:

A transvaginal ultrasound provides much more accurate results with clearer images. Transvaginal and abdominal ultrasounds pose no harm to the uterus, and there is no risk of exposure to infectious toxins after urination. Follicular ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound, and transabdominal ultrasound monitoring data are clearer than transabdominal ultrasound. The measurement results should be more accurate. Transabdominal ultrasound has some degree of error. You don’t need to worry too much. We recommend you have a transvaginal MRI examination.
