Does the doctor know the gender of the blastocyst?

Patient's question:

A friend has now developed a clear case of a blastocyst. I've never heard of this before and feel quite curious. I'd like to know if doctors know the sex of the blastocyst.

Doctor's answer:

A blastocyst refers to the newly formed infant after pregnancy. The difference between a blastocyst and a zygote lies in stability. Due to its short formation time, the embryo is relatively unstable in terms of morphology and structure. The embryo contains fewer cells, meaning there are not many cells. The blastocyst is relatively stable, composed of a large number of cells, which can reach over 100, making it more stable. The embryo and blastocyst are two situations that only occur in vitro fertilization.
