What happens when theleep treats cervical erosion

Patient's question:

At the age of 22, after getting sick, taking medicine did not seem to be very effective, and I still felt uncomfortable. I would like to ask: What would be the effect of LEEP treatment for cervical erosion?

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion is one form of chronic cervical inflammation and is not a true erosion. It is caused by the stimulation of inflammatory secretions, leading to the shedding of squamous epithelial cells from the mucous membrane of the external cervical os, which are then covered by fibrotic columnar epithelium. Since the newly formed epithelial covering is very thin, it appears as if there is true erosion, hence the term "cervical erosion." The main symptoms of cervical erosion include increased vaginal discharge, lower back and sacral pain, dyspareunia (pain during intercourse), and urinary frequency and dysuria. Among these, increased vaginal discharge is the primary symptom of cervical erosion and is sometimes the only symptom.
