First, the material is relatively extensive, and a large number of entries are included. The famous quotes and aphorisms were collected from representative works spanning three thousand years from the pre-Qin period to the late Qing Dynasty, including classics, histories, philosophy, literature, poetry, lyrics, and miscellaneous writings from hundreds of ancient texts. The number of entries collected is nearly twenty thousand. The scale and comprehensiveness of this work are unparalleled among similar books.
Second, the selection of famous quotes and aphorisms is relatively concise. Whether depicting scenes, describing objects, narrating events, expressing emotions, portraying people, or using metaphors, they are chosen based on whether they meet ideological and artistic standards. As a result, most of the selected entries are profound in meaning, rich in philosophy, insightful, or movingly beautiful.
Third, the annotations for each entry are flexible and concise, making them easy to appreciate and cite. In addition to clearly marking each entry, the annotations, explanations, translations, summaries, key points, and illustrative facts are included as needed for each entry, or omitted if not necessary; the amount of text is determined by the actual requirements. Flexibility is combined with rigor.
