Che Guevara, born on June 14, 1928, in Rosario, Argentina, originally intended to study medicine to benefit humanity. However, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the revolutionary fervor in Latin America. To pursue his beliefs, his presence frequently appeared across Latin America, fighting side by side with the local people for the path to liberation, battling for blood and tears. He fought in the mountainous jungles of Cuba with a mysterious and unpredictable presence, initiating guerrilla warfare that terrified the enemy and ultimately secured the victory of the Cuban Revolution, becoming a legendary figure in Latin America and the world.
After the victory of the Cuban Revolution, Guevara held a series of key positions in the new Cuban government, making positive contributions to the reconstruction of the new order. However, his romantic passion for the revolution led him to resign from all his posts in Cuba, first traveling to Congo, then to Bolivia in Latin America, to continue his guerrilla warfare and attempt to spread the revolutionary storm across Latin America and the globe. On October 9, 1967, Guevara tragically sacrificed his life in Bolivia at the age of 39.
Guevara's heroic spirit and selfless dedication earned him the respect and adoration of the people of Latin America. At the founding conference of the Organization of Latin American Solidarity in 1967, a symbolic "Latin American Country" was declared, and Guevara was honored as "an honorary citizen of our common homeland—Latin America."
