Yu Qiuyu, has been on the run for fifteen years

Features: This book includes a selection of articles I wrote over fifteen years of exploring Chinese and world cultures. My exploration, though extensive, primarily focused on seeking the "meridian systems" and related "acupoints" of major civilizations. Thus, the hardships I encountered were twofold: the physical struggles of travel and the intellectual challenges of reflection. There was also a more subtle difficulty—the struggle of expression. I couldn’t convey to readers the unique spiritual paradox of a traveler, nor exaggerate the difficulties I had already overcome on the journey, nor burden readers with the obstacles yet unresolved in my thoughts. This of expressive difficulties nearly spanned all fifteen of my years. Therefore, the articles readers see, no matter how light and carefree they may appear on the surface, are accompanied by a comprehensive torment of life in every sentence. I have always held my words in high regard, something readers can understand. The articles on Chinese culture in my exploration have been selected and reprinted more frequently, but this time the selection leans more toward the parts of my exploration into world cultures. — Yu Qiuyu
