Features: Henry Ford (1863-1947) was the founder of the Ford Motor Company and was born in Dearborn, Michigan, a few miles outside Detroit, USA. His grandfather, John Ford, was an Irish immigrant. As a child, Henry Ford dreamed of becoming a watchmaker. His talent for mechanics and his obsession with it shaped his life's work. At the age of 16, he came to Detroit alone and embarked on his brilliant career as an inventor, creator, and automobile magnate. The successive successes of the Model A and Model T cars brought Henry immense joy of achievement. However, he did not stop there. The Ford production line was a revolutionary innovation at the turn of the 20th century, and its assembly-line production method influenced the United States and the world for more than half a century. This production method came to be known as Fordism. Henry Ford continued to work until September 20, 1945. On this day, his 28-year-old grandson, Henry II, took over the highest authority of the Ford empire from him.
