Patient's question:
A 54-year-old woman knows she has discomfort in her body but hasn't gone to see a doctor. She asks: What should happen with polycystic ovary syndrome?Doctor's answer:
Now, during our outpatient visits, we have noticed an increasing number of patients suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Its etiology is not well understood, but it may be related to changes in social stress and dietary patterns. The main features of PCOS include irregular menstruation or obesity, apart from hyperandrogenemia. This series of problems can lead to systemic metabolic disorders. These patients produce a large number of eggs, but most of them are not viable. Therefore, I recommend that these patients undergo early culture dishes, although the success rate is not low.
