Can you use a pregnancy test a few days after cohabitation to check for pregnancy?

Patient's question:

A 52-year-old woman doesn't know why she suddenly got sick and is feeling uncomfortable. Please ask: How soon after sexual intercourse can a pregnancy test be used to detect pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Around 3 weeks, blood hCG and conception, yes. But those with earlier implantation can try after 2 weeks. This ultrasound was conducted on the Xth day after the last menstrual period. Generally, 10 days after conception, an ultrasound may still not show anything, but it's not ruled out that implantation could be earlier. Based on the ultrasound findings, pregnancy is possible, but further blood hCG and p checks are needed. Typically, the earliest missed period is 5 weeks, which is 3 weeks after conception.
