Patient's question:
I am a 19-year-old female and have been feeling discomfort in my body, so I haven't gone to see a doctor yet. Could you please tell me: What are the symptoms of endometritis?Doctor's answer:
It can be divided into acute and chronic types. Acute endometritis has a rapid onset, with fever, even accompanied by chills, low-grade fever above 38°C, slowed pulse, general weakness, sweating, severe lower abdominal pain, a sense of heaviness, and lower back pain. It is accompanied by a large amount of bloody, purulent, or watery vaginal discharge, which may have an odor. If the acute phase is not treated properly, it may develop into chronic endometritis. The main symptoms are: lower abdominal heaviness and distension pain during the intermenstrual period, and lower back and sacral pain. Due to the increased secretion of endometrial glands in endometritis, the vaginal discharge increases. The vaginal discharge is usually thin and watery, pale yellow, and sometimes bloody. The menstrual cycle may still be regular, but the menstrual flow is significantly increased, and the duration of bleeding is also significantly prolonged. In nulliparous women, dysmenorrhea is common, but severe dysmenorrhea is rare.
