What is endometriosis and what causes it?

Patient's question:

A girl is 20 years old this year, and her mental state has not been very good recently. She doesn't know what's going on either. Please ask: What is endometriosis?

Doctor's answer:

Endometriosis refers to the fibrous tissue and stroma of functional and active endometrium that reappears outside the endometrial layer. As we mentioned earlier, the endometrium grows on the innermost layer of the uterus. If this endometrium grows into the uterine muscle, we call it adenomyosis. If the endometrium grows on the entire outside of the uterus, on the ovaries, in the pelvic cavity, or even on the intestines, ureters, or lungs, all of these are referred to as endometriosis.
