Does having mild cervical erosion affect pregnancy?

Patient's question:

Female, 35 years old, my menstrual cycle has always been quite irregular. I never took it seriously before, but recently I've noticed that my vaginal discharge has been increasing and there's a foul odor. I went to the hospital for a check-up, and they said it's cervical erosion. Will mild cervical erosion affect pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

Mild cervical erosion generally does not affect pregnancy. However, it is best to recover before pregnancy. Your condition can be checked in the gynecology department of a Class III-A hospital before pregnancy. If precancerous lesions are ruled out and there are no other issues, you can proceed. Different causes lead to different symptoms, and patients need to go to a formal Class III-A hospital for systematic and standardized examinations as soon as possible to receive targeted treatment. Additionally, patients should maintain a regular schedule, take precautions against cold, eat light and soft foods, ensure good ventilation, and drink plenty of hot water.
