How should cervical erosion be treated better?

Patient's question:

Female, 29 years old, my menstrual cycle has always been irregular. I never paid much attention to it before. Recently, I noticed that my vaginal discharge has been increasing, and there's also a foul odor. I went to the hospital for a check-up, and they said it's cervical erosion. How should cervical erosion be treated effectively?

Doctor's answer:

Patients with cervical erosion do not all have symptoms. Early stages may show no symptoms, while later stages can present with increased vaginal discharge. However, since the cause of cervical erosion varies, the nature of the discharge may differ, often being white or yellow, and in severe cases, it may contain blood streaks. Some women may experience sexual intercourse bleeding, lower abdominal discomfort, and other specific symptoms. Cervical erosion is relatively easy to treat as a gynecological condition. Generally, after a cervical smear test rules out precancerous lesions, sensitive medications can be used for topical washing treatment. Because the area is rich in blood vessels, the drug concentration is relatively high, so oral medication may not be necessary.
