The book contains over 240,000 words, is richly illustrated, and comprehensively presents the historical panorama of the Battle of Wuhan, as well as the three-dimensional progression of the battle. After reading the book, one can not only learn about the sincere cooperation between the leaders of the Communist Party of China and the Kuomintang for the anti-Japanese war but also feel the anti-Japanese enthusiasm of ordinary people against the backdrop of the larger historical context. The Battle of Wuhan, which captivated the world 67 years ago, was a highly significant battle in the early stages of the Anti-Japanese War. It lasted for four and a half months and was the largest battle in the history of China's resistance to Japan, involving the largest number of troops from both the Chinese and Japanese sides. In this battle, the Chinese defenders killed over 100,000 Japanese soldiers, effectively depleting the enemy's combat strength and completely shattering Japan's dream of forcing the Chinese government to surrender through a swift victory. From then on, the Chinese War of Resistance against Japan entered a phase of stalemate, and the Japanese invaders were engulfed in the vast ocean of the Chinese people's war.
