Features: This book is one of the 14 core textbooks for higher legal education planned by the Ministry of Education under the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century." It is currently the most comprehensive and innovative new work on private international law in China. With the aim of meeting the needs of China's opening-up and modernization drive, the book strives to accurately explain the basic concepts, theories, and principles of private international law, in order to fairly and reasonably resolve legal issues in international civil and commercial relations and protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign parties. The book is divided into five parts: Part I is "General Principles"; Part II is "Conflict of Laws"; Part III is "Uniform Substantive Law"; Part IV is "International Civil Procedure Law"; and Part V is "International Commercial Arbitration Law." In Part II, in addition to traditional conflict of laws, it also includes maritime conflict of laws, negotiable instrument conflict of laws, bankruptcy conflict of laws, intellectual property conflict of laws, and interregional conflict of laws. In Part III, it discusses various international uniform substantive laws related to international civil and commercial relations, and arranges the "Uniform Substantive Law" part parallel to the "Conflict of Laws" part, which demonstrates certain pioneering and creative approaches and aligns with the principle recently advocated by China's education sector to "broaden interdisciplinary fields." In addition to serving as a textbook for undergraduate students in higher political and legal institutions and a reference for graduate students, this book can also be used as a reference by China's legislative and judicial organs as well as foreign-related departments.
