Features: Ancient poetry refers to literary works from the pre-Qin period to the Sui Dynasty. "Source" means the origin. Ancient Poetry Source means that ancient poetry is the source of poetry. The Qing scholar Shen Deqian once said, "The Sage of Poetry reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty, but the peak of poetry is not its source. Therefore, Tang poetry is the upper stream of Song and Yuan poetry, and ancient poetry is the origin of the Tang people. Ancient Poetry Source collects poems from all dynasties before the Tang, including some folk ballads and proverbs, with rich content, totaling over 700 poems. It can be said that most of the more famous works (excluding The Book of Songs and The Songs of Chu) are included. Many of the ancient poems in it are representative works of various historical periods and have been widely passed down and recited by later generations. For example, The Peacock Flying to the East is 1,785 characters long and is considered the longest poem in ancient Chinese literature! "It is vivid and repetitive, describing the words of a dozen people, each resembling their voices and appearances—could this not be the work of a divine pen?" The Ballad of Mulan, which is both extraordinary in its story and in its poetry; there is also the timeless masterpiece of Jing Qing, "The wind blows bleakly, the waters of Yi River are cold, a brave man goes forth and never returns"; Emperor Gaozu's Song of the Great Wind: "The great wind rises, clouds soar, its might spreads over the land, and it returns to its homeland. How can I find brave men to guard the four directions?" Cao Cao's "Raise your cups and sing, how short is life," and "An old horse lies down in the stable, but its ambition reaches a thousand miles"; Cao Zhi's Seven Steps Poem: "The stalks burn in the pot, the beans weep in the pot. Born from the same root, why must we burn so fiercely?" Tao Yuanming's "Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, I leisurely see the southern mountain"; and the memorable "The sky is vast, the wilderness is boundless, the wind blows low, grasses wither, and herds appear"—these famous lines have had a profound influence on later poetry and prose creation. Reading and reciting Ancient Poetry Source will bring a leap in your cultivation!
