Features: After Germany's defeat, to achieve the final victory in the World War against Fascism, the American people took action to prepare for the decisive battle against Japan, and the successful development of the atomic bomb accelerated the end of the war. On July 1945, the Allies broadcast the Potsdam Declaration to the world, stating that if Japan did not accept unconditional surrender, "the Allies would fully occupy the Japanese homeland." However, the Japanese government implicitly rejected this final ultimatum. As a result, the United States decided to drop the atomic bomb on Japan. On August 6 and 9, 1945, the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, turning these two cities into ruins in an instant. The dropping of the atomic bombs forced Emperor Hirohito of Japan to announce unconditional surrender. On September 2, 1945, General MacArthur accepted Japan's surrender on behalf of the Allies. Thus, World War II ended completely, and the World War against Fascism achieved its final victory.
