Features: The National Erhu Performance Examination Work Collection has been published in three volumes so far. As the basic teaching material for the examination activities, its publication not only ensures the healthy development of amateur erhu examination activities but also plays a certain role in promoting the construction of professional erhu teaching materials. The vigorous rise of erhu examination activities has formed a broad and solid social foundation for erhu art, becoming one of the internal driving forces for its continuous development. The erhu is a national instrument capable of expressing various musical styles and flavors, with composers and performers who have created works for it spread across the country. When editing the first three collections of works, although we paid attention to the diversity and representativeness of style, region, and authors, some excellent works were still omitted. Additionally, in recent years, numerous new erhu works have emerged, many of which not only incorporate distinct contemporary elements but also develop new creative techniques and performance skills. Introducing these outstanding works to a broad audience in a timely manner will play a positive role in enriching the repertoire of amateur examination activities, promoting the development of erhu performance and teaching, and flourishing erhu art. Therefore, based on extensive collection and selection, we have also solicited new works from erhu composers across the country. Over the past two years, we have collected over a thousand works from more than a hundred authors. After careful selection and arrangement, we have formed the fourth volume of the National Erhu Performance Examination Work Collection. Compared to the previous three volumes, the fourth volume of the National Erhu Performance Examination Work Collection has the major feature of being primarily composed of new works. Moreover, during the selection process, special emphasis was placed on the diversity and representativeness of the works, ensuring that erhu examinees from different regions across the country can find familiar and favorite pieces within it. During examinations, the fourth volume of examination works can be used independently or cross-used with the previous three volumes.
