Features: The second book of The Piano Course is a continuation of the book, further expanding the scope of piano performance and music. In these ten chapters, each focuses on a specific technical and musical theme, accompanied by exercises and basic practice, ensuring successful performance of subsequent pieces. We do not expect to complete a chapter in one lesson; the learning pace should be determined by each student's ability. In the later chapters, there are pieces available for teachers to select based on students' needs. There is also a comprehensive appendix on scales, along with related basic exercises and broken chords. At this stage, students must build a solid technical foundation to achieve true progress. We have found that grading students at the end of each lesson—giving a five-point star for scores above 80—along with rewards at the end of the term, can motivate students to practice. This method encourages enthusiasm for piano playing. We recommend learning simple four-hand piano pieces to encourage sight-reading and develop ensemble skills. Additional supplementary pieces can be found in the four-hand piano collection, all from the Waterman and Heywood piano series.
