Features: We hope you can enjoy playing four-hand ensemble pieces with your friends, parents, and teachers. Here are some helpful tips for you:
1. During practice, don’t always play only one part. Once you’ve mastered one part, you might enjoy switching with your partner to play the other part.
2. Before starting to play, count a short measure of time, and use your left hand to silently keep the beat. Take turns counting with your partner. If someone makes a mistake or gets lost, be prepared to pick up from any measure or any beat.
3. Whenever you see the “little glasses” symbol, pay attention to your partner’s face and hands. It will help you stay in sync at the beginning, end, pauses, when the music slows down, and when it speeds up again.
4. Pay close attention to the dynamics of the music. The second part should never be played louder than one part.
