Features: This collection, selected from the "Sonatina Collection" spanning two centuries of German music, is divided into three volumes. The selected works reflect the development trajectory of piano music from the early 18th century to the late 19th century. The collection is generally arranged chronologically. However, the first few pieces do not follow strict chronological order but are instead replaced by easier compositions to help students quickly get started. The other pieces arranged chronologically do not consider difficulty progression.
Volume of the "Sonatina Collection" includes 26 sonatinas from the late Baroque period and the so-called pre-classical era. This collection will allow students to familiarize themselves with some features of the original manuscript versions early in their studies, which are usually only familiar to advanced performers. The characteristic of this period is the extensive use of ornamentation, as it is not always well-known. Therefore, some important ornaments and performance techniques are listed according to the rules followed at the time.
