The content is excellent and easy to understand. Love is the most important factor in bringing happiness, and we pursue love desperately because of it. Every trace of it is good. The wealthy woman Xun, intelligent and passionate, invites a newly met Cambridge scholar—Jiang Xibao—to her engagement party, intentionally creating opportunities to match her with her brother Xun Congyu. At the party, Xun Congyu, Xun's father, is captivated by Xibao's intelligence, conversation, and beauty, and thus also begins to pursue her. Under the dual pressure of her father and son, Xibao very realistically chooses her father, and in doing so, she gets everything she wants, even more.
After becoming Xun Congyu's woman, Xibao may have gained material and financial satisfaction, but she cannot endure the loneliness and emptiness of her emotions and body. She needs more substantial love and a life that belongs to her. Xun Congyu discovers that Xibao has someone else, and cruelly shoots her boyfriend in front of her. Xibao is desperate, but she cannot escape Xun Congyu's cage.
Several years later, Xun Congyu passes away, and Xibao becomes the wealthiest woman. However, she realizes that while she has gained money, she has lost everything else—youth, love, and vitality.
