Features: In recent years, extensive work has been conducted both domestically and internationally on the pathogenesis, risk stratification, and preventive strategies for cardiac sudden death, with significant progress achieved. However, the global incidence of cardiac sudden death remains high, and China still lacks in-depth research on the epidemiology and preventive strategies for cardiac sudden death, with no major specialized monographs published to date. To meet the urgent need for preventing cardiac sudden death in China at the turn of the millennium, we organized experts, scholars, and professors who returned from studying abroad, and invited renowned domestic experts and professors to compile this systematic professional reference book, combining the latest achievements in domestic and international research. The book consists of 27 chapters, first introducing the definition of cardiac sudden death, the latest views on its new classification, epidemiology, and pathogenesis. It then presents the standardized diagnostic sequence for syncope and various predictive methods for cardiac sudden death. This section elaborates on the relationship between different diseases and cardiac sudden death and their predictive methods. Given the increasing attention paid to idiopathic ventricular fibrillation in recent years, a dedicated chapter is included to introduce the latest research findings. The latter part of the book covers various measures and methods for preventing cardiac sudden death. Since cardiac sudden death is a major topic in contemporary medicine, many issues remain unresolved. During the writing process, we referred to newly published international monographs and representative papers published in recent years to reflect the new discoveries, concepts, and methods in the field of cardiac sudden death.
