Among these, besides the four major brands of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, Journey to the West, and Dream of the Red Chamber, other works with a large readership include "Er Yan San Pai," Gold Chamber, The Scholars, and Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. In contrast to the widespread popularity of novels among the masses, academic research on them tends to develop towards complex textual and metaphysical theoretical directions. How to build a bridge between scholarly research and the popular reading of the general public has been a long-standing question and direction of our efforts.
