Features: The college entrance examination (Gaokao) has become the largest talent selection exam in China today, capturing the hearts of countless families every year. As an English teacher with years of frontline teaching and tutoring experience in senior high schools, and as the first English education master at East China Normal University pursuing research in Gaokao English question-setting and testing reform, the author deeply realizes in the long-term teaching research process that understanding the characteristics of Gaokao English questions and grasping the trends in Gaokao English question-setting are crucial for candidates to achieve high scores in English. During the author's work at the Shanghai Zhangsi Foreign Language Teaching Method Research Center, the author compiled a book titled The Golden Key to Gaokao English. However, due to space limitations, it was not possible to provide a detailed analysis of Gaokao English true questions. Therefore, the author decided to compile a series of supplementary books titled Perspectives on Gaokao English Question-Setting, divided into four sub-books: Grammar and Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Cloze and Writing, and Listening, to guide candidates through their studies. This series strives to embody the following features:
1. Up-to-date Content. This series is based on all Gaokao English questions from the 2004 national and provincial exams, including the national, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Fujian, Hunan, Hubei, and Zhejiang papers, and is written with the most current content, aiming to capture the direction of Gaokao English question-setting in 2005.
2. Comprehensive Materials. This series comprehensively includes all 2004 Gaokao English questions from across the country and previous years, making it highly resource-rich. Candidates must not limit their review to local Gaokao questions, as the question-setting committees of different regions often draw inspiration from one another. The Gaokao questions from each province and city are meticulously crafted by experts, ensuring their high quality.
3. Unique Format. The series consists of three parts: the first part is the author's professional analysis of Gaokao English question-setting trends and testing theory; the second part provides a categorized, detailed explanation of Gaokao true questions, offering clear answer strategies and key point hints; the third part is simulated tests. If candidates follow a step-by-step approach, they can achieve twice the result with half the effort in their review.
