To this end, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press has collaborated with Longman to compile this series, "FLTRP-Longman English Graded Readers: New Curriculum Encyclopedic Series." The purpose is to implement the teaching philosophy of the "New Curriculum Standards" into extracurricular reading and help students achieve the requirements set forth by the "New Curriculum Standards." The compilation of the series is guided by the "New Curriculum Standards" and has the following main features:
1. In terms of overall design, it is compiled according to the "New Curriculum Standards" with strong targeting; the number of volumes increases progressively at each level, fully meeting the reading needs of middle school students at all stages.
2. In terms of material selection, it highlights personalization, choosing materials with a sense of the times and rich content based on the different reading interests of students at different ages, helping students broaden their knowledge and cultivate cross-cultural communication awareness while completing the reading tasks set by the "New Curriculum Standards."
3. In terms of difficulty level, it balances the improvement of abilities with the cultivation of reading interest and confidence, creating a relaxed learning atmosphere for students.
4. In terms of learning strategy guidance, reading skill guides are written for each volume based on the requirements of each level in the "New Curriculum Standards," guiding students to develop good learning habits.
