Features: On Amazon, a year is equivalent to a dog year. Humans' one year equals a dog's seven years, and this is exactly the same for Amazon and dogs. In Amazon's three years, I've aged like an old man, carrying the strongest passion, admiration, joy, recklessness, and sorrow of my life, experiencing unforgettable days. I've bloomed like a rose, gone wild like a devil, loved, hated, been innocent, and been shameless. In the end, I stood by the roadside, watching the wheels of life drift away, like a beloved old dog. But who knows how much I loved it—no longer would I love anyone as deeply as I loved it. I stand here, utterly alone yet infinitely devoted. An era has passed, and I'm just a insignificant ghost of it.
21 dog years? 21 divided by 3 equals 7. So, I'm going to tell you about an experience where one year feels like seven. During the peak of the internet economy, an employee at Amazon—global's largest online bookstore—worked there. He went from a temp to a customer service representative, then to a developer, and eventually left the job. It was a span of three years, but the experiences within those years were so profound that they seemed to exceed 21 years. His story reveals the essence of the new economy and the sacrifices people made daily to survive in corporate America. The introspection, love life, and dark humor reflected in those "one year feels like seven" days are invaluable.
I'm an amateur at heart. I enjoy doing everything on an amateur level, so I consider this a kind of "three days fishing, two days drying nets" life art—it's the only craft I've dedicated my life to studying. As soon as I had a bit of imagination, I began planning to use this craft to mix my vibrant cocktail life. Thus, I started my cocktail career as an amateur woodcutter. I suppose I must be one of the world's worst security officers—I didn't even know basic security. I only started feeling scared when I safely left the security job, wondering how I'd managed to survive those perilous days. A teacher like me is hard to find in America because I don't resemble a teacher in the slightest. Everyone else thought I took the job because I loved it, not for any perverted reasons.
