Features: After the publication of the two volumes "Common Character Calligraphy," they were well-received by a broad group of calligraphy enthusiasts, and letters were received requesting the compilation and publication of the unreleased common characters. To address this, we have added another 2,000 common characters to the existing content, publishing them in two additional volumes, the third and fourth. The arrangement and format of these two volumes remain identical to those of the first and second volumes, with no changes made. In certain characters of the seal script section of this book, some that were not included in the Shuowen Jiezi, we have adopted the traditional writing styles long circulated in the folk. These characters are marked with an symbol for reference. This book is a comparative calligraphy manual featuring multiple scripts, designed for beginners to consult and practice. The 2,000 common characters included in this book were selected from the list of 1,500 common characters published by the Ministry of Education of the Central People's Government in 1952, as well as frequently used single characters from newspapers, magazines, and other publications. Due to the limited number of characters, some common characters will be included in the sequel, and this work is currently in progress and will be published in the near future. This book includes regular script, clerical script, running script, cursive script, and seal script. To facilitate an understanding of the differences between traditional and simplified characters, a column for small regular script traditional characters is included for reference. The single characters selected for this book are arranged according to the number of strokes: those with fewer strokes come first, and those with more strokes come later. Characters with the same number of strokes are arranged in order of stroke sequence.
