Features: The "English Support Series" is a collaborative publication between the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) and Pearson Education, the world's largest multinational education publishing group. It is edited by Chris Jacques, the chief editor of the current senior high school English textbook Senior English for China, and Wang Wei, an English teacher at Beijing Foreign Studies University, as the series editors. Additionally, Neville Grant, the chief editor of the current junior high school English textbook Junior English for China, is invited as an advisor to the series. Furthermore, dozens of experienced middle school teachers with practical teaching experience have participated in the review process. This series is synchronized with middle school English teaching, divided into 6 levels from 7th grade to senior high school, with 4 types of books per level: "Listening and Speaking," "Grammar in Context," "Reading Skills," and "Reading to Writing," respectively targeting the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as grammar, providing students with practice activities. We decided to publish this series in light of the current chaos and inconsistency in the publication of English supplementary materials for middle schools in China, with varying quality and often failing to meet expectations. Many teachers urgently need high-quality supplementary materials. Therefore, we have made significant investments in terms of manpower, resources, and financial resources, determined to compile a set of high-quality supplementary materials suitable for domestic needs and meeting international standards to alleviate the difficulties of teachers and prepare a better series of books for students to lay a solid foundation in English during their middle school years. The series has the following features:
1. Natural and Accurate Language: Co-authored by professional textbook writers from abroad and experienced domestic teachers with years of training in middle school teacher education, and recorded by foreign experts. The language and pronunciation are natural and accurate.
2. Synchronized with Classroom Learning: Accompanied by the unit progress of middle school English teaching, it can be used as synchronous classroom practice.
3. Moderate Expansion of Knowledge: Based on the Ministry of Education's latest basic education stage English curriculum standards, it moderately expands vocabulary and adds cultural background introductions, especially including some common vocabulary and expressions used in daily life.
4. Aligned with Tests and Exams: Designed with the requirements of domestic junior high school and senior high school exams, as well as various international standardized tests, making it highly practical.
5. Lively and Diverse Question Types: Learn English in context with lively content and diverse formats, complemented by illustrations, making it highly engaging.
6. Comprehensive Training and Improvement: Interactively trains the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, starting from the basics, to comprehensively improve students' pragmatic abilities.
