The book collects the content of the Saint-Etienne International Design Exhibition, encompassing masterpieces in various fields such as clothing, housing, furniture, automobiles, and vessels. The International Design Biennial was held in Saint-Etienne, France, from November 16 to 24, 2002. Over 20,000 works by more than 1,500 designers from over 80 countries (including fashion shows by 21 groups and individuals) were displayed in exhibition halls spanning 25,000 square meters. The exhibits covered a wide range of fields, from daily household goods, furniture, fashion, travel, and leisure to architecture, automobiles, materials, home appliances, environmental protection, corporate design, urban construction, and transportation. These works represent the diverse styles and cultural characteristics of modern design by designers. This serves as an analysis and review of the state of design phenomena worldwide. Independent designers, design firms, companies, retailers, design research centers, and design schools all participated in the exhibition, showcasing their research and development processes. At the same time, it also raises a new question: eco-design, or "design for tomorrow's environment."
