Features: This book is a collection of works by Argentine cartoonist Modillo. The complete set consists of ten volumes. Modillo's cartoons possess a distinct artistic personality and unique style. His works are vibrant in color, showcasing a magical and dreamlike world. The ultra-spacetime and surreal imagination in his cartoons infuse his humorous themes with a rich romantic atmosphere. Additionally, Modillo's cartoons carry profound philosophical depth. He believes that humans should live together in peace and happiness without any barriers. The wordless format of his cartoons transcends language barriers, clearly reflecting his ideological stance. Modillo's illustrations are characterized by smooth lines and bright, elegant colors. His main characters, whether human or animal, have round, funny, and adorable appearances, further enhanced by exaggerated large noses, which is no wonder why they are so beloved. The master of silent comedy, Marcel Marceau, once described appreciating Modillo's artwork as watching a tightly plotted movie, where unexpected surprises follow one after another, tightly intertwining many unforeseen wonders with absurd logic. Modillo said, "Humans believe in their future, despite all the hardships, they must find ways to overcome them. For me, this is the strength of human nature. It is through this that humans develop a strong willpower, allowing them to live creatively." Modillo is indeed a creator who is always searching, always trying, and constantly challenging himself. He observes life not just with his eyes but also with his heart, as seen in the pitiful, absurd, and laughable characters in his works. Although they bear witness to the cruelty and stupidity of humanity before us, on the other hand? Behind the cruelty and stupidity, isn't Modillo also reshaping humanity's noble ideals and expectations for life? Thank you to the master of black humor, Modillo, for warming our hearts with humor and cleansing our minds with black comedy.
